My years of furniture building, renovation, and remodeling experience working with my wife's father, an architect whose style I greatly admire, has given me training in some of the many ways to improve the flow of space as well as how to use architectural detailing to transform the simple into the elegant.
Another crucial, but often overlooked, factor in optimizing your quality of life in indoor spaces involves lighting. Working with a master electrician over the years who is both friend and colleague has given me qualifications in residential electrical work and lighting design. The importance of proper lighting features cannot be overestimated.
